Risky Business

Risky Business is an Ubom! Theatre Company production which uses music, physical theatre, satire, and taboo-breaking humour to look at issues around HIV and AIDS. It was commissioned in 2008 as part of the HEAIDS project, and was shown to students in residence halls in that year. It was then reworked and performed for Rhodes staff members , and was seen mainly by support staff members. In 2009, a schools version was developed, and was shown to three schools in Grahamstown, as well as being included on a local schools tour, where it was shown in conjunction with other pieces. Ubom! took it to the Drama for Life Festival, where it received a standing ovation.

A 2010 version is being performed for first-year students as part of Orientation week, and it is planned that it will be continued in different venues throughout the year.
