Lazarus Kgageng is a multi-award-winning youth leader, a published Queer author, and a Master of Arts candidate under the Political and International Studies Department. His research focuses on creating queer-affirming primary healthcare interactions in higher education institutions through a consultative process between healthcare workers and queer individuals. With this research, he aims to identify the essential actions for cultivating and sustaining sexual and gender-affirming healthcare services. Dr. Ulandi Du Plessis and Professor Catriona Macleod supervise this research. Lazarus’s previous qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Political and International Studies from Rhodes University.
