Geography Honours

Degrees Offered:
BSc (Hons), BA (Hons) and BSocSci (Hons)

Structure:
Four theory courses, a research project proposal, a research project, and a number of seminars.

Requirements:
An appropriate Bachelor’s Degree with a final year average of 65%

Orientation:
The orientation programme takes place at the beginning of (or prior to) each academic year and includes a field trip.

Field Trips:
Compulsory for certain modules and may be during vacations.

Conference:
Students are expected to attend and present a paper at the annual Geography Students Conference.

120 (i.e. 1200 Notional Hours)

Courses:
Courses are offered by Departmental staff, Visiting Professors, Visiting Lecturers and Research Associates. These courses reflect the interests of the presenters and may be subject to timetable and staffing constraints. Other appropriate modules may be taken, if approved by the HoD. Entry into any module depends on the provision of evidence of appropriate prior knowledge to the HoD.
