Research internship available at the CSSR

Applications are invited from suitably qualified individuals for a one year research internship located in the Critical Studies in Sexualities and Reproduction research programme of Rhodes University. The successful candidate will join a team of researchers studying alcohol use during pregnancy. S/he will be primarily responsible for logistical arrangements, training data collectors, overseeing the data collection process, collecting data where necessary, coding data and performing statistical analyses.

Requirements:

  • A relevant social science Masters or Doctoral degree or evidence of substantial progress in a Masters  or Doctoral degree;
  • Experience in conducting quantitative research or evidence of significant training in quantitative research;
  • Valid driver’s license.

The successful candidate will be expected to reside in Grahamstown, but will travel extensively throughout the Eastern Cape. S/he will receive a taxable stipend of R120 000. The internship will run from January to December 2016.
