Eligibility: The Andrew W. Mellon Postdoctoral Fellowships are open to the Social Sciences and Humanities. Candidates must have been awarded their Doctoral degrees within the last five (5) years.
Period: Fellowships are for one (1) year. Renewal for a second year of the fellowship can be considered depending on the research and publication record during the fellowship.
Value: The Value of the Fellowship is R180 000per annum (tax free). An additional R20 000 is available for local travel and research costs. The Fellow carries no other fringe benefits.

Successful candidates are expected to pursue a mutually agreed upon research programme with their Host and Head of department.
