Students from schools in Makhanda and nearby communities, including Port Alfred, Bathurst, and Gqeberha, met on 17 February 2023 for the Rhodes University Mathematics Experience (RUME) at the Barratt Lecture Theatre Complex at Rhodes University.

A second year Statistics Masters student, Babalwa Falteni, is participating in the 2021 FameLab programme that starts today online and will end tomorrow.

An initiative that started as a small idea in 2000 at Albany Museum under Nonceba Shoba's leadership has grown into a fully-fledged partnership between Rhodes University and GADRA Education.

This year the Rhodes University Maths Experience (RUME) welcomed 22 schools and a total of 360 learners from in and around Grahamstown, with schools from Port Alfred and Port Elizabeth joining as well. RUME is an annual event that hosts learners from grade 7-12, both public and private schools.
