Research Day 2024

The Rhodes University Library recently hosted a successful Library Research Day on October 23, 2024. The event, held both in-person and online, explored the theme "Research in the Digital Age: New Frontiers and Challenges."

With a strong turnout of 104 attendees, the event provided a valuable platform for postgraduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and emerging researchers to enhance their research skills. Attendees engaged with experts through informative sessions on topics such as artificial intelligence, scholarly integrity, research data management, researcher identifiers, transformative agreements, and research intelligence.

By offering a hybrid format, the event catered to a diverse audience, fostering knowledge-sharing and networking opportunities. This initiative aligns with the University's strategic goals of creating an engaging student experience and strengthening its position as a research-intensive institution.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Dr. Nomakwezi Mzilikazi, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research, Innovation, and Strategic Partnerships, for her insightful keynote address and continued support. In addition to this it is worth noting that the event would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of the organising committee as well as the broader implementation team.
