Am i able to borrow books, as an off-campus student who does not reside in Grahamstown?

  • Off-campus students can request that library material be mailed to them by the relevant subject librarian.

  • You need to confirm your mailing address with the librarian in order to make sure that the material is mailed to the correct address.

  • The librarians’ contact details are available here.

As an off-campus student residing in another city, can I make use of the library at another institution?

  • Postgraduate students and staff members may request “a letter of introduction” from the RU library to submit to the other institution in order to make use of their resources.

  • In order for us to prepare the letter, you will need to fill in an application form available here.

  • The completed application form can be e-mailed to libloansupport@ru.ac.za
