Session Overview
This two-part session is designed to enhance participants’ familiarity with two major research platforms used across academic and professional disciplines.
Part One: Exploring Web of Science
The first segment focuses on Web of Science, a premier multidisciplinary citation database recognised for its extensive coverage of high-impact research. Participants will gain insights into its core features, including citation tracking, research analytics, and strategies for identifying influential publications across diverse fields.
Part Two: Navigating ScienceDirect
The second segment offers a hands-on guide to ScienceDirect, a leading full-text platform that provides access to a vast collection of scientific, technical, and medical (STM) literature. This session will demonstrate effective search techniques, content organisation, and tools for managing and utilising full-text research articles efficiently.
By the end of this session, participants will have a deeper understanding of how to leverage both databases to support their academic, scientific, and professional research endeavours.
