It is with great sadness that we inform you that a former member of the library staff, Anne Warring, passed away yesterday.

During her years in the library, Anne worked as a Clerical Assistant in the library’s Cataloguing Department from 1993 – 2010, thereafter moving to the Commerce section when the Library underwent restructuring and expansion. In early 2011 Anne moved to the Law branch library as Administrative Assistant from 2010 – 2012.  In 2012, Anne moved back to the main library into the post of Assistant Librarian in the Commerce & Law section, where she remained until her early retirement in February 2014.

With the diagnosis of her illness in 2012, Anne’s courage and fortitude was an example to her friends and colleagues. Anne and her faithful dachshund, Basil, were familiar figures around Grahamstown and will be sorely missed.
