Dear Colleagues,

The Community Engagement Division is very saddened to inform the Rhodes community  that one of our most dedicated community partners,  Ms Mary Humphreys passed away very suddenly yesterday.  Mary was the Director of the Raphael Centre, a progressive NGO focussing on Asset Based Community Development.  She has served for three years on the Community Engagement Committee, showing great passion and commitment.  She worked closely with the Psychology and other Rhodes University Departments.  She has been a tireless activist in the city contributing at various levels of the community.  She will be remembered for her commitment to social justice, courage to address pressing matters and her very kind and gentle spirit.  Mary will be sorely missed by us all.
