Paula Heron (1996)

Paula Heron has just been awarded the NCAS (National Consortium for Academics and Sports) 2012 Steps Award for her work as a civic leader. Her tireless efforts with the Tri 4 Freedom organization, which raises awareness of human trafficking, and her accomplishments as a triathlete  have gained her national recognition. Paula will receive her award at the 2012 Giant Steps Awards Banquet and Hall of Fame Induction ceremony on Thursday, October 4 in Orlando, Florida.

In June Paula will be doing a 27-hour ultra distance triathlon to raise awareness for the 27 million people enslaved worldwide and to promote social and environmental sustainability in sports and to financially support human trafficking survivors in Kentucky.
