Centenary House Awards:


The following awards are made to residences of Centenary House by the Centenary House Committee.

Centurion of the Year Award:

This award was introduced in 2004. 

Criteria:  This award is awarded by the Centenary House Committee to the Centurion (resident of Centenary House) that:

• Worked hard, played hard;
• Contributed to the spirit of Centenary House and had a passion for Centenary House that culminate in an outstanding contribution to Centenary house over a period of time (at least one year);
• Good academic achievements;
• Had positive interactions with their fellow Centenary House students, the go to guy for advice on academic and non-academic questions;
• High involvement in residence: Helped out at functions, involved with community engagement and sport as well as the social activities of Centenary House;
• Has a leadership presence in Centenary House.

Bellingan Award :

Centurion of the Year and First Year Student

This award was introduced in 2008.

Criteria: This award is awarded by the Centenary House Committee to the first year (at Rhodes) Centurion (resident of Centenary House) that:

• Worked hard, played hard;
• Contributed to the spirit of Centenary House and had a passion for Centenary House that culminate in an outstanding contribution to Centenary house during the course of the year;
• Good academic achievements;
• Had positive interactions with their fellow Centenary House students, the go to guy for advice on academic and non-academic questions;
• High involvement in residence: Helped out at functions, involved with community engagement and sport as well as the social activities of Centenary House;
• Has a leadership presence in the Centenary House.

• The sense of personal achievement attained in these activities.

• Participation in other sporting (outside of the activities of Centenary House) activities;
• The manner (sportsman like conduct) in which the Centurion participated in these activities.
