Communication in Emergencies

The ability to communicate instructions during an emergency situation is key to the effectiveness of executing the Emergency Management Plan – as per the Emergency Management and Response Network Communicating accurate and sufficiently detailed information is a challenge. In general, alarms should alert everyone to conduct an evacuation. Although detailed information (fire, bomb threat, etc.) cannot be communicated, the basic advice to evacuate is communicated.
