For community engagement in the second semester clothing was collected for people in need via the Rhodes University Community Engagement office. Many students participated in this initiative and we were able to collect and donate many clothes.

Every Monday inspirational and motivational messages were sent out to the house students to help encourage them to push through their academics and to reach out for help.

Monday Reminders

We had our Celeste House hike on the 24th April 2021. This was to promote self-care.  The hiking journey was filled with funny stories shared among the students.

A Celeste House braai was held on the 05th June 2021. The purpose was to welcome everyone in the house and get to mingle and meet new people. The whole house had a dance challenge and the atmosphere was amazing.

The Residence organised an academic talk on the 10 th of October 2021. The discussion was held online with two motivational speakers, Ms Nishmita Bramdaw, Pharmacist at Settler’s hospital and Ms Sinesipho from ABSA. Both are former students of Rhodes University. Their presentations were very stimulating and thought provoking.
