In 2019, Graham House was committed to daily engagement with the greater community of Makhanda. This included a day to day learning programmme with the children of Noncedo Primary School, a school in the heart of the location with disadvantaged but highly capable pupils, and below standard facilities for learning. Assistance to the pupils at Noncedo Primary School was in art work, reading and learning other subjects. On the 19th September 2019, a few Graham House students accompanied the pupils on a leisure and educational tour of the museum.

The last community engagement event was the painting of the school and a talent show jointly organised by Noncedo Primary School and Drostdy Hall, on the 12th of October 2019. A good number of Graham House students attended, and others donated towards the meals for the function to be as successful as it was.

The Graham House Head of Community Engagement, Kenneth Ramoroka, was involved in 9\10s Mentoring Programme, a Rhodes University and GADRA Education partnership initiative geared towards equipping matric students in selected local schools to cope with their final year of school and to pass to their full potential.

The achievements in Community Engagement, although hard to measure, are commendable. However, the challenge which the 2020 House Committee will need to address; would be active participation in the programmes that run through the semester, unlike the once off events.
